The Civic Health Index is Project Texas’ data and insight platform to help us measure how North Texans are doing.

The Civic Health Index is Project Texas’ data and insight platform: Version 1.

Version 1 gives Texans a clear, high-level picture of how communities across North Texas are doing. We translate trusted data into simple, easy-to-understand insights across areas that shape everyday life — like education, health, economic opportunity, and community engagement. To add perspective, Version 1 also compares Dallas to peer global cities, including Houston, Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles, so families, leaders, and partners can understand where Dallas stands and what patterns are shaping the region.

This is the beginning. Version 2 will expand the Index with additional indicators, deeper geography, and more interactive tools — building a Civic Health Index that is comprehensive, accessible, and actionable at scale. As the largest metropolitan region in the South and the economic engine of Texas, North Texas deserves a civic data platform that matches its growth and ambition.

Organizations and investors who believe in the region’s future are invited to be at the table to help share the next phase of this unprecedented tool.
